Commercially available Nanotechnologies,
their input materials and Nanotechnology enhanced products,
have become actively traded commodities on the world
market, much to the benefit of original developers
and their investors.
A number of Australian companies
are already producing considerable revenue on the international
market and there are substantial opportunities within
Australian, for companies and investors alike, to generate
growth from Nanotechnology- all with only a limited
exposure to original development risks. Experts within
the industry will discuss:
- Commercial Nanotechnology developments, opportunities
and risks in our region
|
- Opportunities for direct and
indirect investment as well as trade in Nanotechnologies
|
- Valuation of Nanotechnologies and risks involved
in investing and trading
|

Registration
Registration includes a light breakfast, refreshments
and the Australia Industrial
Nanotechnology report. |
Industrial Nanotechnology - Opportunities
and Risk is an investment focused seminar aimed at
business developers, industry groups, government bodies
and the investment community at large - generally,
organisations who are interested in new, Nanotechnology-driven
growth opportunities.
This seminar has been developed in
partnership with the Asia Pacific Nanotechnology
Forum (APNF).
The seminar's special handout Australia
Industrial Nanotechnology has
been provided by nABACUS (nABACUS).
The Industrial Nanotechnology
- Opportunities and Risk seminar is supported by NSW
Department State & Regional
Development.
The Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum
(APNF)
in partnership with Future
Materials and IMS
CCI n-ABLE Nanotechnology in Manufacturing have
developed a series of industry focused seminars that
are aimed at business developers and decision makers
in small and medium enterprises, industry bodies and
local governments who are interested in learning more
about the applications of nanotechnology, and the potential
benefits of applying nanotechnology. The seminar series
is supported by AusIndustry.
Feedback from industry, through Future
Materials Industry Advisory Committee, indicates that
small to medium business operators do not have the
time for traditional multi-day conferences. Therefore,
a series of industry focused seminars have been developed
that will run for approximately two hours at a time.
The seminars to be run are:
|
- Building Materials and Infrastructure
|
- Biotechnology and Life Sciences
|
- Resources and the Environment

There are literally thousands of Nanotechnology patents
world-wide, all of them waiting for some return on
their investment. One of the most promising areas to
gain some commercial benefit from Nanotechnology is
that of infrastructure. In the seminar we'll look at
lessons to be learnt from China where concrete where
Nanotechnology has become part of almost every large
infrastructure undertaking from city sewage pipes,
to highways, to large scale metropolitan air purification.
The seminar will start with a plain English introduction
to Nanotechnology with a focus on Nanotechnologies
in infrastructure and opportunities for Australian
firms to take up such technologies to either value-add
to their own product line or import existing products.
Following this there will be a more detailed presentation
from an expert within the industry.

The application of Nanotechnology to biotechnology
and life science is as natural as that of Information
Technology to the Internet. One of the first Australian
commercial applications of Nanotechnology was in the
life science area. In Australia there is great expertise
in biotechnology and life sciences, and this is backed
by Australian owned intellectual property. The seminar
will start with a plain English introduction to Nanotechnology
with focus on state of the art of bio-nanotechnology
and life science applications and
opportunities for Australian firms to take up such
technologies. Following this there will be a more detailed
presentation from an expert within the industry.

Soon after Nanotechnologies
entered the commercial market in the early nineties,
with mainly analysis equipment for the developing industry,
ambitious entrepreneurs and large commercial organisations
started to develop Nanotechnology value-added products
for the consumer market. Today, there are a multitude
of products with amazing Nanotechnology-based features
in consumer sectors ranging from textiles, food, and
cosmetics to surface coatings, jewelry and many others.
The seminar will start with a plain English introduction
to Nanotechnology with a focus on consumer goods and
opportunities for Australian firms to value-add to
their own products and product range. Following this
there will be a more detailed presentation from an
expert within the industry.

A new Nanotechnology based phenomenon is discovered
almost every single day somewhere around the world.
Many of the developments are applied in the area for
which they had been originally intended but other
discoveries find amazing applications in completely
different areas such as environmental protection,
and the conservation of energy and resources. The seminar
will start with a plain English introduction to Nanotechnology
with focus on Nanotechnologies in environmental conservation
applications such as food packaging and filtering and
opportunities for Australian firms to take up such
technologies. Following this there will be a more detailed
presentation from an expert within the industry.
